How to Calculate Your IELTS Results?
The final band score of IELTS is an average of the band score received individually in the 4 sections, ie. Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
You are marked on a band scale of 0 to 9 based on your proficiency in each section. Each section carries an equal weight. The scores are usually given in both half and full bands, which means you can score in the range of 5.0, 6.0 etc, as well as 5.5, 6.5 etc.
If the average comes out in a decimal point, for instance, 6.25, the bands are adjusted to the nearest band score. In this case, the final band score will be 6.5.
